Zap Stands: Defibrillatator Stations Located In Frisco Parks

A defibrillator can be the difference between life or death for someone having a heart emergency. Having access to a defibrillator outside the context of an emergency room visit or arrival of an ambulance has saved lives. The State of Texas has some requirements for certain organizations to have a defibrillator on site, but the City of Frisco went farther than that, and introduced “Zap Stands” to several city parks.

A Zap Stand is an outdoor station with illuminated screens. The city of Frisco has 10 Zap Stands in city parks. Each Zap Stand is a 24-hour monitored electronic station that offers an emergency defibrillator and direct contact with a 911 operator for emergency support.

This is potentially lifesaving technology in the event someone is having a heart emergency in a city park near one of the ball fields.

Frisco, Texas is the only city in the United States to offer Zap Stand technology. For more information, watch the video below, or visit their website.
