The perfect drink for some fun in the sun.
The warm weather is here, and what sounds more like summer than a Watermelon Margarita? It is delicious, takes very little effort, and requires just a few ingredients. All you need is a blender!
Ingredients:
- Fresh seedless watermelon (enough for approx 4 cups)
- 6 oz Tequila (four shots)
- 1/3 cup lime juice
- 1-2 Tablespoons agave syrup (can substitute simple syrup if needed)
- (optional: kosher salt or tajin to coat rim of glass)
Steps:
Start by cutting enough watermelon into around 1.5 inch cubes to fill 4 cups. Place these in a blender and add four shots of tequila, 1/3 cup of lime juice, and 1-2 Tablespoons of agave syrup. If the watermelon is a very sweet one, you can just add one T of agave. if it isn’t the sweetest, go for two Tablespoons. Blend it together and serve over ice. Optional: you can coat the rims of the glasses with the juice of the already squeezed limes, and line the rims with kosher salt, or tajin if you want a little kick. It is really that simple. Enjoy!
Non-Alcoholic: If you want a version without any alcohol, substitute the tequila for some slightly watered down limeade and/or orange juice. We suggest watering down limeade and/or the OJ because the sugars and citrus can overpower the taste of fresh watermelon. Feel free to experiment and let us know how it goes!
