Our Top Ten DFW 4th of July Week Options! 2019 Edition

Looking for something to do and a place to watch fireworks in DFW? Here is our “Top Ten” list of Independence Day destinations.

June 29th

The annual Celebrate Freedom festival at Texas Motor Speedway. This free, faith based event features several musical guests and the only charge is $15 per vehicle to park.

July 3

Parking can be tough but Addison’s Kaboom Town is a great way to celebrate Independence Day. Ranked in the top ten fireworks displays in the USA by USA Today, and #2 overall by Yahoo.com! Just be sure to check their website for information on road closures for the event.

In downtown Dallas, Red, White, and Boom on the Bridge. You can even do some pregaming at the 3rd Annual ‘Merica The Beertiful event located in The Texas Ale Project and watch the fireworks from there!

July 3-4

OUR PICK: Frisco Freedom Fest is our favorite place to enjoy 4th of July celebrations, and we think you’ll love it too. This year it is a two day event. July 3rd, come see the Dachshund Races, followed by the evening “Hotter ‘N Firecrackers” 5k Glow Run. On the 4th, enjoy the “Party In The Plaza” featuring fun family games, live music, and even the annual Taste of Frisco; check out the list of attractions. There’s even a FC Dallas soccer game next door at Toyota Stadium, followed by the fireworks. There are plenty of places to park, and with all the excitement in one spot makes Frisco Freedom Fest our favorite pick.

In Arlington, you can attend the games on July 3rd or July 4th and watch the fireworks immediately afterwards.

July 4

If you live close to downtown, there is Fair Park Fourth at the home of the State Fair of Texas.

Plano’s All American Fourth Fireworks with food trucks and a live DJ.

The Castle Hills Freedom Festival at the Castle Hills Village Shops in Lewisville features family oriented games, inflatables, food, a live DJ, and $5 beers followed by fireworks.

If you are near Fort Worth, there’s really one event that rises above the rest: The Fort Worth Fourth at Panther Island Pavilion. Live music, games, food, pony rides, tubing… there’s too much to list.

The Dallas Arboretum has some nice programming to go along with the beautiful scenery there are well on July 4th.

The City of Richardson’s Family Fourth Celebration at Breckenridge Park. There are two off site parking locations with free shuttle service. Concessions and kids activities begin at 6:00pm.

 

BONUS: If you’re willing to spend some money, live in (or near) Highland Park, and you don’t want to eat from food trucks or sit on a blanket, you may want to try the third annual 4th of July Celebration at Royal Blue Grocery. There is a BBQ buffet, patio seating, and a perfect view of the fireworks at the Dallas Country Club. Cost is $40 per adult and $18 per child; you MUST make a reservation they do not take walk-ins.
