What To Do With Leftover Candy

Here are some ways to use all that leftover candy from Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and whatever else!

Every holiday it’s the same: Piles of uneaten candy belonging to our children are preserved like an ancient monument in some forgotten historical site. Nobody wants to throw candy away, but after a while eating the same type of chocolate bar and crunchy goods just doesn’t hit the same.

That’s why as a public service, we’re going to help you find some new uses for holiday style candy! No matter what time of year you finally find the courage to open those ziplocks of wrapped goodies, here are some excuses to start eating again!

Baking Ideas

Candy Cookie Dough

Candy Bar Brownies

Candy Brownie Trifle

Halloween Candy Bark

Baking Dish Cookie aka Candy Blondies

Ice Cream Toppings

This is the easiest way to use the candy. Break it into smaller pieces and use it for ice cream toppings. Some candies like M & M’s and skittles are already the correct size.

Candy Canes:

Crush them in a plastic bag and use them as a topping for ice cream, cakes and cupcakes, or on top of whipped cream for a fancy hot cocoa.

Hot cocoa stir sticks. And while we are on the subject of hot cocoa

Candy Cane Syrup

Donate

There are many organizations that do this. But come on, you aren’t donating anything. You came here to find some creative ways to still eat the candy you say there is too much of.

But… around Halloween there is a Treats for Troops program, and sometimes the Ronald McDonald House will also accept these sorts of donations at the local level.
